Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL) increases the residential electric rate by 8.941 cents per kWh at 12.366 cents per kWh. This is a whopping 38% increase after their last increase which took place in December 2021. This increase taking effect in just a few weeks will add approx. $34 per month to the average residential electricity bill and about a $48 per month increase since last summer.

But it’s not just residential power that will increase. The increase in PPL tariffs will also affect commercial companies which will be hit by a 21% increase in their electricity price taking the cost of 9.674 cents per kWh at 11,695 cents per kWh. The corporate rate hike will also take place on June 1st.
